The Association for Theological Field Education (ATFE) meets every two years as a professional organization for four days of continuing education, training, recent research, new developments, and our business meetings. We hope that you will find the biennial experience a most positive and helpful one. The theme for this biennium is "Plaza - A Place of Encounter." In experiencing our beautiful Caribbean setting in San Juan, we have chosen a theme that tries to capture the ambiance of this historcial city (the second oldest European-established city in the Americas). You will find open urban spaces throughout Old San Juan, each plaza with unique character and cultural significance. The plaza is a place to meet new friends, to catch up with old friends, to hear the news of the day, and to celebrate life. Our desire is that your time in San Juan will serve as a “professional plaza” where you have the opportunity to connect with others and God.
