The purpose of Western Theological Seminary's Alumni/ae Council:

• to be an advocate of the seminary's mission
• to speak on behalf of the seminary in the Church
• to maintain and strengthen relationships among alumni/ae
• to communicate concerns from the Church to the seminary

The council receives nominations and chooses two individuals each year to receive the Distinguished Alumni/ae Award at the annual Alumni/ae Banquet.

The council meets in the fall and the spring and also participates in spring and fall fundraising phonathons by making calls to other WTS alumni/ae. Members are eligible to serve two consecutive three-year terms.
