  1. What is ANGEL?
    ANGEL is a web-based course management software that enables teaching, learning, and communicating on the Internet. To learn more about ANGEL you may visit the ANGEL public web site at http://www.angellearning.com
  1. What do I need to use the ANGEL software?
    You need a web browser (FireFox or Internet Explorer, best to have both) and Internet connection to use ANGEL.
  1. How can I go to the WTS ANGEL site?
    Go to http://learn.westernsem.edu.
  1. What web browser should we use for ANGEL?
    Generally speaking, ANGEL functions well in many browsers. Internet Explorer and FireFox are both supported and tested on PCs running Windows OS and FireFox on Macs running OS X. Certain contents perform better on IE or Firefox thus, we recommend you to have both of them.
  1. How do I log in?
    Go to the home page  http://learn.westernsem.edu. Type in your user name and password, then click the Log On button to log in.
  1. What do I need to know to use ANGEL?
    You need to know basic Internet browsing and email skills, knowing how to download and upload files, and understanding attachments is crucial. Be sure your machine meets the technical requirements as listed on this page.

    Yes, on WTS's home page http://learn.westernsem.edu, click the Help icon  on the left to open the online help instruction and download student_quickstart file.

Technology Requirements

Each student is required to provide his or her own computer with the basic applications. A high speed internet connection is strongly recommended.

  Basic requirements
Operating System Windows XP (Home/Pro) or Vista,  Mac with the following applications
Applications

MS Word 2003 or up (both Windows and Mac users)

Web browsers for PC:
Internet Explorer 7.x or 8.x, FireFox 3.x
Web browsers for Mac:
          FireFox 3.x
Add-ins: depending on each instructor's reference, one of the following players may be needed for video lectures.
Anti-Virus software is strongly recommended

Processor & Memory Recommended processor over 1 GHz, memory over 512 MB to ensure playing audio/video lectures smoothly.
Hard Drive 20 GB minimum, 50GB is recommended
Microphone and Speakers Language courses such as Hebrew or Greek may require submitted recording files. A head set is recommended.
CD/DVD Drive Some online courses have CDs/DVDs. Make sure your machine plays CDs/DVDs.
Wireless Wireless connection is available on campus. You will need an 802.11g  type wireless card either internal or external on your laptop if you wish to use the Internet via your laptop while you are on campus. Otherwise, computers are available in the computer lab, library and student lounge.
