Do you have a unique ministry in mind? Are you passionate about making a difference in this world? The M.Div/MSW Dual track degree program is designed for people who say yes to these questions. The M.Div/MSW Dual track provides the options for people like you who want versatility in their M.Div. program
A minimum of two years of full-time study on campus in Holland, Michigan followed with two years of part-time study while completing the MSW at another institution is required to fulfill the degree requirements.
To apply for the M. Div/MSW program, you must:
- Have of Bachelor of Arts degree or its equivalent which should include a liberal arts core of: 2 semesters of world history; one semester each of English composition and English literature; one semester of philosophy; one semester of psychology; one semester of sociology.
- Apply no later than May 1 for admittance in the Fall semester.
Degree Requirements:
- 96 semester credit hours consisting of introductory Biblical, Theological and Christian Ministry core courses and Formation for Ministry requirements. Electives are fulfilled by transfer courses from the MSW degree program the student completes.
- Attend yearly orientation held in August.
- Participate in an Intercultural Immersion experience.
M. Div Careers
Unique ministry opportunities not available to other seminary students will open for students pursuing Western's M.Div/MSW Dual Track. You will develop an integrated interdisciplinary identity through acquiring skills in the theory and practice of Christian Ministry, social work, and counseling - expanding the areas of ministry you may be called to after graduation.
