- Middler and senior students will lead daily morning prayer or 'chapel' at least one time each year. Chapel dates are assigned before the semester begins, and students are reminded 3-4 weeks before their assigned date. You will be sent all materials necessary to plan your service with Professor Ron Rienstra. The time frame for planning follows:
- Three weeks before the service - meet with Professor Ron Rienstra for 20 minutes of brainstorming
- Select students from volunteers on the "Creative Gifts for Chapel" list to help with aspects of the service
- Two weeks prior - present a rough draft, meet with Prof. Rienstra again
- One week prior - present final draft, rehearse with musicians, prepare technical aspects
- Week following service - debrief with all other student chapel leaders from the week before for encouragement and feedback
For questions regarding leading worship services, contact Jill English (616-395-8555 x135).

Although the seminary does not technically "place" its graduates, we offer helpful support to those who will be candidates for a variety of ministry positions. This includes workshops on topics such as Reformed Church in America (RCA) Minsterial Profile, interviewing as a candidate, and compensation for clergy.
Western Theological Seminary regularly hosts guest Classes, churches, and other ministires that wish to make our graduates aware of openings. Many open ministry positions are listed here.
Knowing where to find the answers to your questions is often confusing!
Student Support Services will help you or direct you to the right person.
