How to create the Western Theological Seminary standard signature in Gmail

  1. Print these instructions if you need to.
  2. Type your contact information into the form below.
  3. Highlight the signature listed below the form and copy it (Ctrl + C)
  4. Go to your Western Theological Seminary Gmail account
  5. Click the gear icon in the upper right, then select Settings. (or you may need to first click on a box under Quick Settings that says “See all settings”)
  6. In the window that appears, scroll down until you see a section labeled Signature
  7. Click “+ Create New” and name it. Paste the copied signature into the box that appears.
  8. Below that it says “Signature defaults“. For “new emails,” arrow down to select the new signature you just created. If you wish to also have a signature on replies or forwards, fill in that box also, which appears to the left of “new emails.”
  9. Make sure the box is checked that says “Insert signature before quoted text in replies and remove the “–” line that precedes it.”
  10. A message may appear saying “Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely?” If you see this message, click “No”
  11. If you’re using Internet Explorer, use the mouse to highlight the signature, click the font size icon, and select “Normal.” You do not have to do this if you’re using Firefox, Chrome, or Safari.
  12. Click Save Changes.

Create an Email Signature

Please begin highlighting at the beginning of your name, and make sure your highlight includes the Western logo. Do not include the horizontal lines in your highlight.

Make sure your highlight includes the Western Theological Seminary logo, but that it stops before this line.
