HAVE A TO-DO LIST??

We all have to-do lists…. and lists….and lists.
We prioritize our lists – and it feels so good to cross off a completed task!

No matter your age, a task that should be a top priority is creating or updating a legacy plan.  Established in 2008 by a U.S. House of Representatives resolution, National Estate Planning Week is the third week of October.

Creating a basic plan – or updating your plan every few years –  shouldn’t be a monumental task.  Break it down into a few easy steps:

  1. Review & confirm names and assets for your Power of Attorney and confirm that your assets are current.
  2. Verify your retirement accounts and insurance policies. Check that the beneficiaries reflect your current wishes.
  3. Consult with an estate planning attorney and financial advisor to close any gaps in your plans.

Many of you have already alerted us that WTS is in your legacy plans.  We are so grateful!  In the past five years, Western Theological Seminary has received over $3.5 million in bequests.  Legacy gifts range in all sizes and collectively make an invaluable impact.  By providing through estates, donors express their trust in God’s calling of future pastors and ministry leaders for years to come.

If you are remembering WTS in your plans, would you let us know?
If you have not yet made a plan, and would like a confidential conversation, we’re happy to engage.
