Director of Admissions

Professor of Counseling - Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MA in CMHC)
Western Theological Seminary (WTS) is an evangelical and ecumenical community of faith and learning in the Reformed tradition that serves the church of Jesus Christ.
The WTS MA in CMHC program equips women and men to be wise, competent, humble, and hopeful practitioners, who are attuned to their own selves and stories. Our relationally-oriented and trauma-informed program offers the most contemporary, research-based training while, at the same time, remaining deeply rooted in a Christian soul care tradition that has informed compassionate care for centuries.
The Professor of Counseling will teach a full course load, advise and mentor students, be actively engaged in scholarly research, writing, and presenting, assist with the admissions process, and participate in ongoing assessment of the curriculum and student learning. All faculty positions report to the Dean and Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA), with duties assigned by the VPAA. Faculty are expected to contribute constructively to the seminary’s Reformed theological identity and to its mission “to form women and men for faithful Christian ministry and participation in the Triune God’s ongoing redemptive work in the world,” and to fully support its Faculty Statement on Forming Women for Ministry.

Nouwen Fellow
Western Theological Seminary (WTS), Holland, Michigan, is an evangelical and ecumenical community of faith and learning in the Reformed tradition that serves the church of Jesus Christ by forming women and men for faithful Christian ministry and participation in the Triune God’s ongoing redemptive work in the world.
WTS is actively pursuing diversity (understood in terms of race, ethnicity, gender, and ability) in its faculty and has established a Nouwen Fellow program to encourage applications from ABD or post-doctoral candidates. Candidate research should focus on some aspect of disability theology, with an interest and competency in children’s faith, worship, therapeutic horsemanship, or theology of creation and animals. Scholars with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply.
The Nouwen Fellow should be committed to the historic Christian faith, the Reformed theological tradition, the mission and identity of Western Theological Seminary, and the education and ordination of women for all forms of ministry.
One full-time position is available with a one-quarter teaching load assigned. This is designed to allow the Nouwen Fellow to teach while also providing time for the Fellow to complete the Ph.D. dissertation or conduct research. The Nouwen Fellow will also work with faculty to develop programs related to the WTS Center for Disability and Ministry (CDM) and will participate in the CDM’s Nurturing Children with Disabilities initiative. If mutually agreed, the fellowship may be extended to a second-year appointment. The Nouwen Fellow will be equipped to enter the academic job market with a completed degree and some teaching experience.

OPEN STUDENT POSITIONS
Student Staff Positions – Maintenance Snow Crew
Part-time student staff positions are open on the Maintenance Snow Crew, reporting to David Becker, Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds.
Snow Crew responsibilities include
- Remove snow on campus sidewalks, entries, exterior steps, and ramps; clear parking areas not reached by snow plow service.
- Remove overnight snow accumulation prior to 7:30 AM on assigned days of the week (two people per day). Work typically must begin at 6:00 AM.
- Remove daytime snow accumulation in the early afternoon.
- Operation runs seven days a week; crew members may trade days to accommodate absences.

Community Action House Student Advocate
Provide support to the Community Kitchen by developing and managing a Children’s Center and literacy program and enhancing a welcoming environment for patrons. A job description is available here.
