About Churches in Mission

Churches in Mission collaborates with congregations who see a social, economic, or physical change in their neighborhoods that they want to explore and desire to know and listen to their neighbors, participate in acts of gratitude and story sharing, and are looking for new partners in ministry.

Churches in Mission is funded by a generous gift from the Lilly Endowment Inc.

Pastoral Coaching program

Are you a pastor serving in your first call or entering a new call? The Churches in Mission project is offering two cohorts to help you build your leadership style and connect you with colleagues. Certified ICF Coach Hannah Stevens will facilitate monthly Zoom conversations throughout six months focused on learning your context, leading your congregation, creating action plans, and fostering your culture of curiosity and listening. Sign up below to join a pastoral coaching cohort.

Churches in Mission Project

The Churches in Mission project works with congregations who know that their next chapter of mission is a local one. It attempts to cultivate shared vocation within local church bodies, moving beyond simplistic individual expression of the Christian faith toward communal practices and expressions of ministry.

The current cohort began work in 2023.
