Located in Holland, Michigan, WTS offers 12 graduate programs online, in residence, in English, and in Spanish for women and men preparing for faithful Christian ministry.  Home to the Eugene Peterson Center for Christian Imagination and Center for Disability and Ministry, WTS is committed to providing excellent theological education and spiritual formation. WTS was founded in 1866 when seven of the eight members of Hope College’s inaugural graduating class wished to become ministers and petitioned the RCA to allow them to complete their education in Holland.

Western Theological Seminary has announced the appointment of Drew Brown as their new Director of Admissions. This key decision follows a comprehensive national search, reflecting the seminary’s dedication to finding a leader who embodies academic rigor and spiritual insight.

The appointment of Drew Brown comes at an opportune time for Western Theological Seminary’s admissions department, infusing it with a sense of optimism and forward momentum. In speaking about his new role, Brown expressed his deep sense of calling, noting, “I feel called to support the church using my specific skillset, and I never imagined that would be at my dream seminary.”

Drew Brown, a distinguished alumnus of Azusa Pacific University, brings a rich blend of experience and scholarly achievement to his role at the seminary. Brown holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and a Master of Arts in English, emphasizing Literature and Theology. This diverse educational background positions him uniquely to contribute to the seminary’s vision of integrating theological education with an appreciation for literary and cultural studies.

Brown’s professional journey in the admissions field, primarily anchored at Azusa Pacific University, has been marked by a series of progressively responsible roles, culminating in his position as the Director of Undergraduate and International Admissions. 

Brown’s discovery of the seminary, spurred by his interest in the Eugene Peterson Center and the Sacred Art of Writing Doctor of Ministry cohort, speaks to his alignment with the institution’s core values and goals.
